Work from home protocol

Please read and complete questionnaire before the end of the day

On 20 March 2020 Scootours Cape Town implemented a work from home policy as far as possible due to the Corona Virus Pandemic.

Please familiarize yourself with the company protocol during these challenging times. Please take note that during these times the company will be more vigilant to enforce protocols as not following the rules could endanger the lives of the people around you aswell as the company.

  • Guides to follow Hygiene Protocol – https://adventurenow.co.za/hygiene-sop/
  • Check in every morning via the check in link on the Whatsapp Group as normal – the check in link has been updated to make sense for these times.
  • After checking in make contact via the Whatsap Group and state your health. HEALTHY / UNHEALTHY
  • If your status is UNHEALTHY then make contact with Oudts in private Whatsapp message
  • We only come in to do tours but have to be on Stand Bye for bookings. Guides to be on stand bye with phones from 8:00 – 17:00
  • Guides must be able to reach the tours within 2 hours. This will allow office to take bookings 2 hours in advance.
  • We only conduct Private Tours 
  • The company will issue work that can be done from home in (addition to tours) as far as it makes sense and can be constructive to the business.
  • Work force will be split into 3 teams so that we minimize the risk of shutting down the whole company due to an infection and isolation. Team CT / Team Pniel and team Vinebikes

Hygiene SOP

Scootours Hygiene protocol

Each Vehicle Needs:

  • Hand Soap – thick green
  • Surface Cleaner – green
  • Bio Spray Hand Sanitizer 70% alcohol – clear
  • 2 Boxes per trip for Buffs and Gloves – Clean & Dirty – Responsibility of the GUIDE

CLEAN AND SANITIZE

Arriving at Work and in Between Tours

CLEAN HANDS

  • Clean – Wash your hands before you start work with hand soap and water for at least 20 seconds (light green thick soap)
    Needs to drip dry or air dry or dry with paper towel
  • Sanitize – Spray Hands with hand sanitizer

CLEAN EQUIPMENT

  • Clean – All seats (Vinebikes) and handle bars (Scootours and Vinebikes) needs to be wiped down with surface cleaner spray (dark green bottle)
  • All helmets needs to be wiped down with surface cleaner spray (dark green bottle)
  • Sanitize – After cleaning then Sanitize with Sanitizer
  • Each guest receive clean and washed bandanna and gloves.

CLEAN VEHICLES

  • Clean – Wipe all contact surfaces on vehicle with surface cleaner (including outside door handles, seats, handles) 
  • Sanitize – Spray sanitizer on all contact surfaces in vehicle (clearspray bottle)

Repeat CLEAN AND SANITIZE after each and every trip.

GUESTS

  • Clean – Wash hands upon arrival with Hand Soap. 
    Rinse hands at tap or bathroom
    Drip dry
  • Sanitize – Spray guests hands with hand sanitizer

Experience Feedback

Training 2020 – Experience Feedback

This year we are going to focus alot on training, improving our services as well as educating and growing as humans. We would like to do this on a continuous, fun and effective way.

  • One of the main ways we are going to learn is to continually join tours of other operators > evaluate them and see how we can improve.

On the 21st of January Prince and G went to do the Segways at Spier – we are looking back to their feedback!

Incident Reports

Why it is important to log incident reports

  1. The company submit the incident reports to our insurance in case the client decides to sue us then we have all the info on file
  2. We learn from these as a team and improve our service level.

When do I log an incident Report

  • Every time I open the medical kit or every time when a client cannot complete the tour
  • Al guides involved in tehe tour have to log the incident report within 24 hours – this way the incident is still fresh in your memory

Lanzerac Vinebikes Trail Centre

We have opened a trail centre at Lanzerac as you know. This opens up some  new opportunities for us as a team and also some new challenges. One challenge is that we always have to man the office so we need one team member in the office at all times.

We are going to use this to our advantage as this team member will then man our base camp and can assist with logistics, bookings and emergencies. We will get a phone for the trail centre.

  • Office will mostly be manned by Jarryd, Nico or Oudts – (Jarryd and Nico please familiarise yourself with teh Lanzerac Bookings SOP aswell as the Trail Centre SOP – on the guides page)

SOP Update – Scootours Table Mountain & Franschhoek

I have updated the section on the route to ensure that we dont do the jump at an Riebeeck park. New updates are on the SOP in red and also below.

Table Mountain

Do not do the Jump in Van Riebeeck Park. It is too dangerous as the Scooters are not designed for that. Best place to take pictures here is at the end of the run through the trees and not at the JUMP as this will cause guests to jump and they could hurt themselves.

Franschhoek

The bump after the ski jump at the end of the tour is always a highlight but please dont encourage jumping. Educate clients how to roll over the bump safely (arms and legs relaxed as shock absorber). If the guide makes a big jump then the guest will imitate him and the guide could be liable if there is an accident.
